Śnieżka to rust - Prime enamel for metal surfaces

ŚNIEŻKA NA RDZĘ with Teflon surface protector component is a product providing one-layer, fast drying coatings on the basis of synthetic resins with modified agents contributing to excellent anticorrosive protection of metal surfaces and simultaneously preserving high quality of double- or triple-layer painting set, including a primer, interlayer and top coating enamel. It has excellent adhesive properties to the surface and is resistant to changeable weather conditions, it can be applied to new surfaces as well as surfaces covered with rust. It is designed for protective and decorative painting of steel and cast-iron surfaces. It’s especially recommended for painting steel constructions, means of transport, agriculture machinery, metal machines and devices, boilers, cast-irons, gates and fences, metal doors and windows, etc. It is available in gloss, semi-gloss, hammer effect and metallic effect versions.

Objects made of metal are particularly exposed to damages associated with the influence of weather conditions resulting in corrosion. Teflon surface protector component enhances sealing properties of the paint, reduces penetration of all factors contributing to corrosion process, thus the final coating has excellent durable properties and resistance to intensive influence of external and mechanical factors.

Surface preparation

surface must be dry without rust, dust, grease, salt sludge and any other contamination free

it’s recommended to clean and degrease new steel surfaces by Śnieżka na Rdze thinner and dry

steel surfaces, renovated must be cleansed of any contamination and loose paint, corrosive spots must be cleansed mechanically, rust must be removed and degreased and dried

the renovated solid and smooth surfaces must be grinned by sandpaper in order to enhance adhesiveness, dedusted, degreased and dried

Product preparation

• the enamel is to be stirred carefully before application
• if necessary, the enamel is to be thinned by Śnieżka na Rdze thinner to obtain working viscosity

Painting

• painting works mustn’t be carried out during rain or fog
• the air and surface temperature must be from +10°C to +30°C
• painting works must began with careful protection of edges
• gloss, semi-gloss products as well as with metallic structure must be painted by ‘wet to wet’ cross method (it means vertical and horizontal stripes 2-3 times),so that the thickness of coating measured by comb device when wet amounts to125 #m (dry thickness 60-70#m)
• prime enamel with hammer effect must be spread thinly on the painted surface. After 10 minutes, but not later than after 1.5h, another coating must be applied via cross method so that the thickness of dry coating amounts to 70 -80 #m.
• after the works have been completed it is necessary to wash the tools by universal solvent

Caution

• sandblasted surfaces as well as very corrosive must be primed by ŚNIEZKA UREKOR S. Then after about 6 hours or after 8 days the second coating of prime enamel Śnieżka na Rdze is to be applied
• if necessary, other coatings of Śnieżka na Rdze must be applied with taking into consideration the above intervals (it’s recommended to perform a trial painting)
• in the event of industrial applications, it’s recommended to obtain detailed information from the manufacturer.
• when degreasing surfaces or thinning the product do not use solvents containing gasoline (low temperature and high humidity may extend the drying time)
