ACRYL-PUTZ® RV 13 RENOWA - Lime finish putty
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
ACRYL-PUTZ® RV13 RENOVA is a mixture of specially selected aggregates, white cement, limestone powder, hydrated lime as well as additives and agents. It has excellent mixing properties and easy application. It is ideal for performing smooth surfaces without grinding. It is recommended for damp and dry premises. It guarantees to obtain a smooth surface, ready for painting or wallpapering.
APPLICATION:
It is designed for performing smooth surfaces of 1 to 3 mm thickness upon lime, cement and lime plasters as well as concrete surfaces. It is also recommended for dry and damp premises.
Disinfectant properties
ACRYL-PUTZ® RV13 RENOVA Lime finish putty has disinfectant properties. It prevents from fungi and moulds formation. It also enables particles of water vapour to flow – provides so called: ‘ventilation of walls’.
‘Wet to wet’ application and ‘wet’ finishing technique
Lime finish putty can be applied via ‘wet to wet’ technique – another layer of the putty is applied before the previous layer obtains full drying properties.
ACRYL-PUTZ® RV13 RENOVA allows to use two-kind finishing techniques – ‘wet to wet’ method, without grinding as well as a traditional method by grinding after drying. Both methods allow to obtain smooth, ready-to-paint surfaces.
Surface preparation
- smoothing-down surface must be solid, dry and free of any dust, grease and contamination as well as loose grains of plaster and paint coatings
- all elements coming into contact with the putty must be protected by anticorrosive agents
- unstable surfaces must be reinforced, depending on their absorptiveness, by ACRYL-PUTZ® GU41 DEEP PENETRATING POLYMER PRIMER or ACRYL-PUTZ® GU 40 INIVERSLA POLYMER PRIMER depending on the surface absorptiveness degree.
- Before application the surface mustn’t be wet.
- In optimal conditions the lime finish putty is to be applied on new lime plasters after 24 hours and minimum 14 days on cement, cement and lime plasters.
- Bad weather conditions may prolong the aforementioned times.
Product preparation
- put the content of the bag into a container with cool and pure water and stir mechanically slowly, the proportion of water amounts to: around 8 litres of cool water per each 20kg of the product.
- pour the product and leave for about 10 minutes until it saturates and stir mechanically till obtaining a homogenous mixture
- the putty can be prepared 3-4 hours before application, in order to obtain the optimal application consistency
- by adding some water and putty during work performance, it allows to maintain optimal consistency of the product.
Application
- works are to be carried out at the air and surface temperature from +5ºC to +30ºC
- putty is to be applied by hydrodynamic spraying or stainless steel float of 1-2 mm thickness until obtaining a smooth and even surface.
- the second layer is to be applied after around 0.5-4 hours upon wet, lightly grinned surface.
- During work performance it is allowed to add either water or dry product in order to enhance the consistency and then mix intensively the whole mass.
- Applied putty is to be smoothed when wet till obtaining a full smooth surface.
- In the event of fast thickening, it is recommended to sprinkle it by using sprinkler and proceed with smoothening.
- Do not add any other substances to the putty.
- Properly performed surface does not require grinding.
- If necessary, the dry surface can be completed, by using sandpaper or net of 200 gradation.
- Painting and wallpapering are to be performed after minimum 3 days after application.
- Not used putty can be used later providing the container is sealed and putty is embedded with small amount of water.
Caution
- The putty mustn’t be used on surfaces destined for ceramic tiles
- Information on the manner of application is given for 20±2ºC temperatures and relative air humidity of 65±5%; in other conditions of application, thickening and drying period may be subjected to changes.
- Do not allow to dry up or wet the new surface of the putty.
