Walls in the kitchen and bathroom in various options

You want to change the character of these rooms but you have no clue what materials to use? We would like to present our proposal.

Kitchens and bathrooms are premises where we spend most of our time. At the same time they are exposed to water, contaminations and moisture. Finishing materials which we want to use should not only be aesthetical but also resistant to washing and moisture. One might say that only few products can meet the aforementioned conditions. Contrary to common belief, there are plenty of materials we can use.

Ceramic tiles

This is the most common way to finish our kitchens and bathrooms. It’s not surprising since tiles are well-tried materials as well as resistant to contaminations. Even if the tiles are contaminated by colourful cosmetics or sprayed sauce, it’s easy to clean them. Moreover, water vapour does not influence their condition and properties. Tiles allows us to have fun as far as shape and colour are concerned – on the market there are available various kinds of ceramic tiles of different shapes and colours. We can perform mosaics and interesting combinations which emphasise the nature of the interior.

Wood and wood-based materials

One might think that using wood, which is exposed to moisture in the kitchen or bathroom, is not a good idea. You couldn’t be further from the truth – properly protected wood makes the cool rooms more charming and guarantees a long life. Exotic wood is a good solution for the bathroom. It’s strong and moisture resistant as well as very colourful. The most moisture resistant are as follows: teakwood, iroko, jatoba and merbau.

In the bathroom there are still popular veneer panels which are natural waterproof and moisture resistant.

There is also an option for solid wood such as panelling. Wood can be used in the kitchen too! This material can be used to finish the wall over the kitchen table. MDF panels, glue-laminated wood, wood-based or veneered panels. It’s important to take into consideration to select only those which are moisture resistant.

Wallpaper

It’s an ideal solution for those who want to add variety to their kitchen or bathroom by using different patterns and textures. Wallpaper is an interesting option, providing that, however, we choose the proper one. The best ones for the kitchen and bathroom are made of vinyl and glass fibre. Vinyl guarantees resistance to water and chemical substances. There are flat, foamed, smooth and structural vinyl wallpapers. What’s more, these wallpapers can be used in very wet places (e.g. near showers). Wallpapers made of glass fibre are also high water and detergent resistant. It’s recommended to think it over carefully before using either of them – glass fibre wallpapers are very difficult to remove. In order to change the character of covered walls, we can… paint it!

Paint

Paint is an incredibly easy and cheap way to finish the wall within the kitchen or bathroom. However, in wet premises, a regular emulsion paint might not be a good solution – we should select special products, e.g. Sniezka Kitchen and Bathroom Paint SILVER FORMULA. This product is moisture and washing resistant. Moreover, thanks to pure silver agents, the paint has antibacterial and antifungal properties as well as provides freshness and hygiene for as long as it is on the wall. Thanks to this, premises where we spend our time will not only be aesthetic but also safe as far as our health is concerned. The paint can be applied upon surfaces made of minerals, gypsum, concrete, gas concrete and plaster cardboard panels. Moreover, customers may choose out of many ready-to-use colours as well as create their own colours within the Sniezka colouring system, and as a result the interiors will gain an individual character.
